Decorating any care package is only half the challenge; you can’t just send your loved one an empty box so what you put in a care package is just as important as how you decorate it. This goes for a summer care package as well! Summer care package contents can be just as fun, if not more, as the way you decorate the box.
Summer Care Package Contents
Your summer care package theme may dictate some of your summer care package contents, but there are some general items that fit just about any theme. General items that are perfect to add to a summer care package include sunscreen, sunglasses and flip flops. Look for bright colors, festive patterns and anything shaped like a pineapple. Ok, maybe the pineapple-shaped items may be a bit overkill, but you get the idea.
Some summer care package contents are purely functional whereas others add a bit of fun to the whole box. Practical items like a cooling towel or a really nice water bottle will help your loved one stay cool even during the strongest of heat waves. Spend the few extra dollars on ones with higher reviews that will last repeated use. I love the Hydro Flask water bottle personally and have multiple sizes; they keep water super cold for a really long time.
If you’re looking for some fun summer care package contents, consider playing off your theme or adding some gag gift items like a grass skirt and leis. Adding in a beach-scented air freshener is another way to bring a little bit of home to your loved one. Plus, it will totally help get rid a sweaty stink in their room!
If you want to include snacks among your summer care package contents, there are quite a few options! Snacks like Goldfish crackers, tunafish or pineapple flavored drinks could all fit with a tropical or beach care package theme. To me, summer is always all about fresh fruit and since sending that in a care package isn’t possible, dried fruit or fruit snacks could be a good alternative! Of course a fruity adult beverage with a tiny umbrella is also pretty indicative of the summer season and another no-go for care packages. But you could send the tiny umbrellas for them to add to whatever they are drinking while away from home!
As with any care package, the key to picking perfect summer care package contents is to select items that your loved one will enjoy. If they hate pineapple, skip the pineapple items, even if it fits your theme! Of course, you could always buy festive wrapping paper and wrap any items that don’t really fit the summer theme.
No matter what you choose as your summer care package contents, your loved one will appreciate the extra thought and effort that went into the care package!
