It’s that time of year again – red, white and blue items fill store shelves, baseball diamonds are back in action and grills are firing up all over the neighborhood. As the weather warms up, it’s time to start thinking 4th of July care packages and patriotic care package contents! My 4th of July care package is one of the most popular item in my shop and it’s easy to see why. Military care packages and the 4th of July go hand-in-hand: celebrating our nation’s heroes while they’re deployed is a no brainer. Plus, these care packages can be a lot of fun to fill!
Patriotic Care Package Contents
You can go a few different routes with your patriotic care package contents, depending on your loved one’s tastes and preferences. There are tons of themed snacks foods that are care package-friendly, but if your loved one isn’t into sweet treats or processed foods, you may want to go in a different direction.
Traditional red, white and blue items
For the patriotic food fans, you’ll have no trouble filling a care package with items. There are some great suggestions here, but I also picked out a few good options below.
Additionally, this 4th of July trail mix is also a good addition to your patriotic care package contents. If you select individually packaged foods, you could use these goody bags to assemble little mini care packages for your loved one’s coworkers. Add in a package of fun napkins, these shippable confetti poppers and maybe a patriotic playlist to get their 4th of July celebration going!
As always, follow the guidelines on what can and cannot be shipped to your loved one’s location. Keep in mind that chocolate is more likely to melt as temperatures increase so look for alternatives that aren’t as likely to melt (like those Tootsie Rolls).
If your loved one doesn’t have a huge sweet tooth, you can still send patriotic care package contents! You just have to think outside the grocery store a bit. Sending American-made products is a great way to celebrate the 4th of July without adding too many calories. Shopping veteran or military spouse-owned companies is a nice way to send a little bit of America to those defending it. I highly recommend checking out this Dopp kit from R. Riveter or Combat Flip Flops for fun American-made products to include in your care package.
Something about the 4th of July brings out the pride not just in the United States, but also the local community. Maybe it’s seeing the flag-lined streets or watching local parades, but 4th of July seems like it’s built for small town pride. Sending a few local made or iconic items are a nice addition to your 4th of July care package.
If you’re still having trouble coming up with patriotic care package contents, don’t forget that wrapping paper can help make just about anything fit your theme!
