Life With Ruger

June 27, 2017

Oh gracious, y’all. Today was B’s turn to blog and when we began brainstorming his post, I had to say no to a lot of sassy stuff. We finally settled on what life is like now that Ruger has joined our family, but I apologize in advance if he snuck some extra sass by me.

I’ve learned a valuable lesson lately: everyone lies, including the people you think love you the most. You see, when Rachel told me that Ruger was coming to live with us, she also said that nothing would change and that I would hardly notice that he was there.

Here we are a year later and I can tell you with absolute certainty that A LOT has changed and I definitely notice that he’s here. He’s so big, you guys! He takes up all the bed and almost all of the sofa and is constantly squishing me. Don’t believe me? Well look at this! He’s using me as a pillow! And his head is heavy!

Yeah. Don’t tell me I won’t notice him. He’s slowly taking over the entire house, sitting in all my favorite spots, including Rachel’s lap, which really grinds my gears! That’s my spot, mister. Not cool. I also get stepped on a lot more now than I ever did before, especially when we go up the stairs.

Now I do try to get even with him by stealing his toys whenever he isn’t looking. I’ve chewed up everything he’s ever owned and I’d do it again if I had the chance. Sometimes I even blame him for things I did, like chewing on something I shouldn’t or farting under the covers in bed. Silly dog is too dumb to even realize it.

Now, my mom said I had to share some good things about having Ruger in our house. I had a hard time coming up with any at first, but I do like using his head as a pillow sometimes.  And he’s a really sloppy eater so there’s always extra kibble for me to clean up after he’s done.  That’s definitely my favorite part of Ruger living with us.

I guess he’s not that bad, although if my mom and dad decided I should be the only dog in the bed again, I would be ok with that.

B’s Favorite Day of the Year (So Far)

March 17, 2017

As excited as I was to have A come home, I think my excitement paled in comparison to the four-legged members of our family. I’ve let B take over the blog today to share some of his favorite homecoming moments.

Happy Friday to my peeps! I’m really excited that Rachel let me take over the blog today to tell you about my favorite day of the year.

You see, A and I have a really special relationship. He calls me Wigs and I like to lick his hair. And face. And inside his ears. Basically I do all the licking. So you can probably imagine just how excited I was when Rachel brought him home one night!

I wasn’t really sure where he’d gone, but he didn’t smell like any other dogs, so I was willing to forgive him for being gone for so long.  Roogie and I barked and jumped up and down and both tried to climb into his lap at the same time.

His favorite part was definitely our t-shirts that Rachel helped us make. Mine was a little big, but I need the extra room for my massive wiener dog guns.

Even though I love Rachel with all my heart, it’s nice having A home.  He always drops crumbs when he makes dinner and likes to give me a little bit of bacon when he cooks it. Roogie and I have snuggled with him and licked him every chance we get.

We just love having him home!

Five Things You Don’t Know About B

February 17, 2017

In an effort to keep B’s massive ego in check, I’ve limited him to just one blog post a month. The downside to that is he has a whole lot more to say because he saves it all up. I take no responsibility for the words coming from his paws.

What’s the happy haps, peeps? It’s been a really long time since I’ve exercised my blogging chops. Too long in my opinion. I don’t understand why I’m not a more regular contributor around here. It’s clear that I’m the most talented member of this family. I’m not sure if you knew that about me, but it’s true. Ask anyone, they’ll tell you.

Please don’t do that. No one will tell you that. I had to teach him how to go down the stairs, one stair at a time. Clearly I’m going to need to fact check the rest of his blog post.

Since my mom keeps me hidden from the spotlight I truly deserve, I bet you all don’t know some really important things about me.

Important thing #1: I am always hungry. Even if my mom has just given me dinner, I am ready to eat again. I am literally always ready to eat. My food, Ruger’s food, my mom’s food, food that’s not even real food. I will eat it all.

This is 100% accurate.

Important thing #2: I am literally the only one in the house who is worth a darn when it comes to protection. If it weren’t for me, we would get attacked 100 times a day. I’m really the bravest one in the family.

B was once startled by a leaf skittering across the sidewalk.

Important thing #3: I love being outside! The sunshine on my fur, all the smells in my nose…it’s amazing. I would live outside if I could.

Unless it’s windy. Or raining. Or too cold. Then he refuses to leave the house and just holds it until the weather improves.

Important thing #4: The last naughty thing I did was drinking my mom’s water without her knowing about it.

Important thing #5: Sometimes I do bad things and blame them on Roogie. Mom falls for it every time! I sure hope she never reads this.

Somehow I am not surprised by this at all.

I’m glad I got to share a few things about me. I know that fans always love when celebrities share more of their personal life.

The Worst Weekend Ever – A Poem by B

November 16, 2016

I was very busy this weekend and a certain four-legged member of my family feels that I didn’t spend enough time with him.

This was the worst weekend ever.

Rachel and I didn’t spend any time together.

She crafted all day.

And at night, Ruger got in the way.

He sleeps on the bed

and sometimes lays on my head.

But now what’s even worse is

he calls the spot under the covers his!

I can’t stand it anymore.

I miss the way it was before.

When Rachel and I were always together.

That was the best weekend ever.

Happy Halloweenie!

October 31, 2016

Happy Monday, everyone! Since today is all about the kiddos and the candy, I’ve let B and Ruger take over control of the blog today! Hopefully it’s still standing when I get back tomorrow!

Hey bloggy peeps! It’s B and Ruger back together. Well technically this is our first blog post together, but you get the idea. Our mom asked us to talk about Halloween and show off our costumes, but we both think that’s a little lame.

But our mom has final say because she’s the grown-up and controls access to our food, so happy Halloweenie everyone! Aren’t our costumes great?!

We were supposed to be a banana (B) and a monkey (Ruger), but Mom took too long got busy and the store was sold out of bananas by the time she went shopping. So a shark and a crab it was! Don’t worry, our faces may say that we hate our costumes, but we just really hate having our picture taken…in our costumes.

We can’t wait to wear our costumes when trick-or-treaters come to the door, although B will likely pretend he can’t walk and just bark from the couch. Ruger is probably going to try and join the kids, even though he’s supposed to stay in the house and isn’t allowed to have candy.

We hope that you all have a great Halloweenie and get lots of candy! Don’t forget to give your four-legged family members some!

Oh. Mom says you cannot do that. Candy would make us sick. Give us a piece of cheese instead.
