Spring Date Ideas

Spring Date Ideas

I am obsessed with date nights right now, y’all. When your husband is gone for four months, you miss out on a lot of dates and I am all about making up for lost time.  Plus there’s something about spring in North Carolina that makes you want to get out of the house and DO all the things. I love coming up with spring date ideas for A and I to do throughout the season.

For me, a spring date should happen outside as much as possible. But don’t worry, I added a few indoor ideas to the list in case it’s raining or seasonal allergies keep from enjoying being outside.

Spring Date Ideas

Go on a hike.

Or nature walk if “hike” sounds like something crazy people do!

Take your dog(s) to the park.

You spend time with your significant other and your pups wear themselves out so you can have some quiet time later. Yes, my husband and I totally do this regularly.

Have a picnic dinner date.

I feel like picnics get limited use when it comes to the dinner hour. Make a picnic dinner (or grab some takeout) and eat it under the stars.

Tackle a home improvement project together.

I know this may not seem like the greatest date idea in the world, but if you approach it the right way, it could be a lot of fun! Plan the project together and work on parts that fit your talents until it’s complete. Then you can both kick back and celebrate your handiness!

Go strawberry picking.

Yum. Strawberries. Try not to eat more than you bring home!

Explore a local botanical gardens.

Spring=gorgeous gardens, so take advantage of them.  Many botanical gardens are free, but even those that do charge a fee aren’t terribly expensive.

Make dinner from all local ingredients.

Farmers markets are opening up all over now and you can make a whole day of shopping and preparing some really tasty food. If you’re feeling very adventurous, shop for each other and then cook whatever you get!

Plant a tree in your yard together.

Imagine how much joy you’ll get watching it grow as your relationship/family does.

Go camping.

Cooler spring temperatures are perfect for camping, especially if your summers are on the steamy side. Not really into sleeping outside? Then make s’mores in your backyard! They’re the best part of camping anyway!

I can’t guarantee that A and I will get to all of these spring date ideas, but we’re going to give it our best shot! What’s your favorite spring date idea?
