Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Despite the yucky weather, I had a great few days off because I finished and sent the (hopefully) last care package of this deployment! Can I get a woot woot?! There really is something satisfying about taping that last box shut and temporarily retiring from the care package game. It’s a big deployment milestone, one all military families look forward to and it’s where the inspiration for this orange you glad care package design came from.
If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you’ve probably gathered that I love the color orange. It’s one of the many lasting impacts of my time at Clemson and luckily it lends itself to some pretty good care package puns. I actually sent A an orange you glad care package during our first deployment and have loved the concept ever since.
I went full out with the orange color scheme for this design, choosing orange patterned paper for the bottom and solid orange for the flaps. The cut out oranges take things to the next level. I love how well they layer with the letters, giving this care package a lot of dimension.
I know I’ve said this before, but this may be my favorite care package that was in the shop launch because it does mark such an important moment in a deployment. It’s something we all wait for, something we can’t wait for and when the end of a deployment draws near, well we sure are glad! You can get it in the shop now: all orders ship free and 10% of the purchase price will be donated to an organization that supports military families.
P.S. There are two brand new care package designs in the shop today! I’ll spotlight them in the coming weeks, but you’re not going to want to wait to check them out!
