Y’all. It’s November. How did that happen?! Don’t get me wrong, every day that goes by is one day closer to A coming home, but it still doesn’t seem right that there are only 2 months left in 2016. All that being said, I’m kind of ok with 2017 rapidly approaching.
You see, I have plans for this blog. BIG plans and I can’t wait to share them with you! Over the past few years, I have been so blown away by the community I’ve found with fellow military spouses thanks to blogging. Let me brag on them just a little bit.
This is a group of men and women who sacrifice so much all because they fell in love with someone in the military. They lose out on family time, their own careers, date nights. They hold everything together during deployments and trainings and TDYs. They crush being supportive and are still downright awesome in their chosen fields.
Military spouses who hold everything together and support each other through the hardest times of life. Military spouses who legit invent their own careers that will travel to new states and even countries. Military spouses who come up with new and exciting ways to create strong communities and share their gifts with those communities.
And when I think about the future of Countdowns and Cupcakes, one of the words that constantly comes to mind is “community”. I want to build a strong community of kick-butt military spouses who rock at life, work and everything in between. We are all such a strong group that if we don’t support each other, we’re wasting a really valuable resource.
So I’m creating a new blog link-up that will celebrate everything military spouses do! There are no rules, other than asking that if you share a link, make sure to visit as many other links as you can. You can link up recipes, posts about deployment, care packages, shops or something completely different. Each link-up will start on the first day of each month and run for the duration of that month.
Feel free to share this with your friends, link back to it on your blog and spread the word to anyone who would be interested! I so hope that this becomes a vibrant place to show off everything our awesome community is doing.
