Let’s be real, military spouses rock at supporting their loved ones through everything a military career brings with it. Whether it’s managing everything at home solo or sending amazing care packages, we’ve got the whole taking care of others down. But who takes care of us? Now the answer to that question can be The Six Box! This monthly reverse care package has taken supporting military spouses to a new level and I consider myself really lucky to have received one of the first boxes!
The August box focused on supporting military spouses as they savor the summer. And they totally nailed the theme with the box’s contents.
- Evian Mineral Water Spray
- Supergoop Sun Defying Sunscreen Oil SPF 50
- Boom Chicka Pop Sweet and Salty Kettle Corn
- Happy Tatts Metallic Chevron Temporary Tattoos
- Summertime Lyrics Print
- August 2016 Journal
I loved the mix of name brands and exclusive items. It kept things functional, but still gave it a unique twist that separated it from other subscription boxes. The popcorn was so tasty that I instantly regretted sharing it with A who ate far more than his share. I’m also really excited to add the summertime lyrics print to our seasonal decor and been searching for the perfect frame for it.
While the contents were great, they weren’t my favorite part. My favorite part was the handwritten note that thanked me for my sacrifices as a military spouse. Y’all. It makes me cry just thinking about it.
I firmly believe that military spouses do not get the recognition that they probably deserve, mainly because they’re too dang busy taking care of everyone and everything else. And I’d be lying if I said that it doesn’t wear me down every now and then. But in that moment, reading that note from a perfect stranger, I felt re-energized. I felt appreciated. I felt supported.
And the founders of The Six Box understand that because they’ve been there. As fellow military spouses, they understand just how much military spouses need this boost during the hard times. They’ve done a fantastic job creating an easy way for deployed spouses, friends or family members to do their part in supporting military spouses.
You can still get the August box in your hands (or in the hands of your favorite military spouse), but supplies are limited! I so highly recommend trying The Six Box!
P.S. The Six Box sent me this box for free in exchange for writing a review, but all of my opinions (and love) for this box and the whole concept are my own!
P.P.S. Sorry for how late this post is today!
