Our Weekend in the Woods

June 13, 2016

Happy Monday! Did you all have a good weekend?! I can safely say we did! It’s been an exhausting last two weeks, but we took some time to unwind and went camping!

Up until this weekend, I’d never been camping and for most of my life, I was fairly confident I would not enjoy it.  But now I have gone camping and I loved it! Well, I loved roughly 98% of it which is pretty dang good.

Things I loved: s’mores, grilling, hiking, campfires, swimming, laughing, s’mores, purchasing very specific items for very specific uses, s’mores, sunrises, pancakes, photo taking.

Things I didn’t like: the whole bathroom situation.

As you can see, camping was mainly about the s’mores for me, but I am ok with that. The marshmallow inventory in central North Carolina however may never recover. We spent the weekend at a local lake roughing it, or as close to roughing it as this girl is going to get for a while. Both B and R had the time of their lives with endless smells, swimming and quite a few table scraps.

I was in love with the scenery and took so many sunrise photos, but when you have views of the lake like we did, how do you resist? I seriously narrowed down the ones I’m sharing with you all today, but even then it’s a little bit of photo overload.

SO fun! I absolutely love camping, my family used to go camping a lot during the summer when I was growing up. There is just something amazing about being out in nature. It looks like you guys had a great time. 🙂

    • We had so much fun, but kind of learned that June camping in North Carolina isn’t the coolest activity. I’m looking forward to early fall!

  • I used to LOVE camping as a kid, but as I got older I was grossed out by dirt, spiders, bugs and yes… the bathroom situation! I always tell my husband I would be much more likely to camp if we had a trailer or camper. He says that’t not “Real” camping though! Beautiful pictures!! 🙂

    • Ha! I think if you’re doing it for a time frame longer than say a weekend, the trailer is totally the way to go!
