Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix Recap #19

May 11, 2016

It’s hard to believe that I’ve gotten 19 Stitch Fix boxes on my doorstep! Every month, I so look forward to opening that box and unwrapping the goodies inside. It’s kind of like a mini Christmas morning! So when my husband and I sat down to eliminate some of the extras from our budget in order to make room for all of our new house expenses, I just couldn’t cut Stitch Fix from my life.

But in order to continue treating myself while still doing my part, I vowed to be more selective in what I kept; if I didn’t love it, it wasn’t staying.  So I unpacked my May fix with much more critical eyes than I probably would have 6 months ago.

Level 99 Cindie Linen Short

Item #1: Level 99 Cindie Linen Short. This was a hard one for me. On one hand, I loved the fit of these shorts and I so needed some new ones, but I had three things holding me back. One-they were white and I’m not really a white shorts kind of girl. I’m clumsy, I often sit on the ground for work and I have a black wiener dog who sits in my lap like it’s his job. Two-they were linen. Linen wrinkles and I don’t iron. Ever. Three-the price was just too high when I considered the other two negatives. So I sent these back.

Loveappella Zola Asymmetrical Striped Dress

Item #2: Loveappella Zola Asymmetrical Striped Dress.  I wanted this dress to fit me so badly and it did, but not in a way that would have left me feeling comfortable while wearing it.  Back it went.

Marlyn Schiff Melissa Crystal Charm Necklace

Item #3: Marlyn Schiff Melissa Crystal Charm Necklace. I loved this necklace so much! It’s pretty and delicate, which is how I like my jewelry. It also has a fairly short chain which works well with a lot of my shirt necklines for work.  It was a keeper and I’ve worn it quite a few times already.

Papermoon Paulette Lace Detail Blouse

Item #4: Papermoon Paulette Lace Detail Blouse. This shirt was so stinking cute and my favorite material so I had an internal battle about keeping it. I did end up sending it back because it was just a tad too short in the front and quickly became a crop top when I raised my arms over my head.

RD Style Rhonda Faux Leather Jacket

Item #5: RD Style Rhonda Faux Leather Jacket. No no no. I hated the color and material of this. It was made from “vegan leather”, which to me means “plastic” and it felt like that’s exactly what you were wearing. This was an easy one to send back to me.

  • It’s too bad that striped dress didn’t fit because it’s super cute. I did love the necklace too.

Too bad the lace top was too short! I love that one!

  • I would have kept the white linen shorts, seems like a perfect summer staple. White shorts can go with any top and linen is such a cool fabric. But if they wrinkle badly when you sit down, then I would agree with you.

    • I’ve regretted sending those shorts back a few times!

  • Ashleigh

I love the striped dress because I love all things stripes! I think all the items are Summer perfect and will look great! I totally get if they don’t fit well, though. Thank you for sharing!

    • I could have been talked into everything except that jacket, but felt like I had to be very honest about what would get worn the most.

  • I love that necklace that you kept and that shirt but totally would have sent it back too if it felt too short on me! I may have to pin that top for my upcoming fixes tho cause I love it!

    • The shirt was adorable! You should totally pin it and see how it fits on you!

  • Love the necklace you kept! So pretty! 🙂 Bummer the striped dress didn’t work for you-it’s super cute!

    • I know! I probably could have asked for it in a different size, but didn’t think it was quite right.

  • So I love that dress and shirt! I love Stitch Fix. It’s such a hard addiction to not love. I also have a wiener dog and he loves sitting in my lap like it’s his job as well.

  • That dress is so cute, but it sucks that it didn’t fit! And great job being a lot more selective with the items that you receive in your Fix! That’s definitely the hardest part for me!

  • I love that necklace you kept! That striped dress is super cute, too bad it didn’t fit!

  • Jen

I am loving that necklace! It’s really pretty.

  • I love seeing people’s stitch fix boxes. I only did one and the prices were too much for my consignment loving self, so I didn’t keep up with it, but I love seeing what other people get in their boxes. It makes me want to try again.

  • Such a bummer that the lace top didn’t work out, it looks so cute!

  • I love the necklace and I’m so glad you kept it, those dainty pieces are my fave!

I love that necklace! I usually opt out of the Stitch Fix jewelry because of the prices. I am pretty picky in general with what I keep from them due to some of the quality and prices.

  • Lovely necklace.
Believe it or not, it’s my first time to hear about vegan leather. Wow. Thanks!

  • I love the concept of stich fix, but know that I would have such a hard time sending anything back. I def. would have kept this necklace and the dress. Everything else would have had to go! lol
