Happy Monday! If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I got my care package on this weekend! Even though A isn’t deployed right now, sometimes inspiration hits and I just have to put the pieces together. That was totally the case with this baseball care package.
I found these amazing die cuts at AC Moore and immediately knew exactly what I wanted to do with them. By cutting the baseball in half, I got more for my money and it gave the flaps a really cool effect. I backed them with plain red paper that kept the focus on them, but hid the cardboard.
I pulled coordinating bat scrapbook paper for the other two flaps. The baseball mitt needed to be kept intact so I used it as the bottom, along with blue paper to carry the “America’s favorite pastime” theme throughout the entire care package.
All decorations aside, a baseball care package is just a box of stuff if you don’t fill it with baseball-themed items!
All of these items are perfect for a baseball care package! Obviously peanuts and Cracker Jack are ballgame staples. I mean the song even says so! I added sunflower seeds at A’s request because apparently they were his favorite as a kid. Bull Durham and Big League Chew are a little cheesy, but still fun additions to the box.
Other additions could include baseball cards, preview magazines of the season ahead, a new hat (or any other gear) from a favorite team and I also really like this baseball mug. An actual mitt and ball would also be really good additions!
A totally would have loved to get this box. Shhh, don’t tell him, but he may very well still get it in the mail during his next deployment. What would you include in a baseball care package?
